CHAIRMAN - Prof. Michael C. Asuzu (MBBS, MSc)
Professor Asuzu holds an MBBS degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (UI), a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics both from the McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medicine College of Nigeria (NPMCN) and a consultant physician in the faculty of Community and Occupational Medicine, UI. A professor for over 10 years, in recognition of his contribution to public health medicine, he was elected a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. Currently he is among others, Chairman, Faculty of Public Health, NPMCN and Chairman, Association of Community Physicians of Nigeria.
As chairman of this board, he brings to DHI his in-depth knowledge of and practical expertise in health management. In addition, he shares our unwavering commitment to the healthy family. He personally runs an adolescent sexuality health program in schools and counsels intending couples on health issues before marriage.
SECRETARY – Dr. Nkechi Asogwa (MBBS)
Dr. Asogwa serving as executive secretary and secretary of the board of trustees offers a seamless line of communication between both boards. A recent graduate of the International School of Fundraising, she brings a diverse set of abilities and competencies to the board of trustees.
MEMBER - Alhaji Biodun Sunmola
With a diploma in Secretarial Studies and another in Business Administration, Alhaji Sunmola’s career has involved education (the West African Examination Council), the diplomatic corps (the Nigerian Embassy, Lome, Togo) and the media (the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation and the Nigerian Television Authority {NTA}). Since retiring from the NTA, he has successfully run a private business venture.
A grassroots politician since the ‘70’s, Alhaji Sunmola has served his local constituency in several capacities, focusing on education especially that for indigent children. He has made many personal donations of educational materials in large numbers. The recipient of many awards, he has been honored with the Award for Excellence by the Conference of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria.
Alhaji Sunmola brings to DHI, his commitment to the poor and vulnerable, a focus on education and his dedication to grassroots community development.
MEMBER – Chief Anthony G. Adoh (LLB)
Chief Adoh graduated as a lawyer, from the now Obafemi Awolowo University. He rose through the ranks of the Companies Patents and Trademarks (now the Corporate Affairs Commission) to management level, before joining the Ibru Group of companies where he served as the Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser for 22 years. On the social front, he has participated in awareness campaigns against the HIV/AIDS scourge in the Niger Delta.
He brings to DHI his commitment to family life development through women empowerment and education of the girl-child, especially at the grass roots.

PRESIDENT – Obi Ideh (MBBS)
After graduating from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Obi went on to pursue post graduate training in obstetric and gynaecology at the State University of New York in Buffalo (Sisters of Charity Hospital). On completion of her training, she returned to Nigeria and has worked in several private hospitals. Currently she is the fulltime consultant obstetrician/gynaecologist at Motayo Hospital, Ikeja

VICE PRESIDENT – Dorothy Jeff-Nnamani (MBBS, MPH, MSc)
Dorothy graduated from the College of Medicine University of Nigeria Nsukka. She then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Lagos and a Masters degree in infectious diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London. Since joining PHB HealthCare (a health management organization) as a Zonal Manager, she has risen to become its Chief Executive Officer.

SECRETARY – Nkechi Asogwa (MBBS)
A graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nkechi holds a Master’s degree in Theology. With a special interest in bioethics, she has several courses on this thorny subject under her belt. As a founding member of Doctors’ Health Initiative, she has represented the organization during several public hearings and worked with the sub-committee of the National Assembly on health matters. She currently works as a general practitioner at Derry
Clinics, Lagos

TREASURER – Folakemi Adu (BA Mktg.)
With a diploma in business administration from Yaba College of Technology, a BA (Hons) in Marketing from the University of Lagos and a banking career in Afribank Nigeria Plc that spanned 22 years, Folakemi Adu is an eminently qualified treasurer. She is passionate about taking care of children and brings to Doctors’ Health Initiative, her experience in personally caring for several teenagers and women in crisis pregnancy situations. Currently she is executive director of Gloria Hospital Ltd and Folads Nigeria Ltd.

COUNSELLING COORDINATOR– Harriet Ogbobine (BA Ed.)
Though Harriet is an educator, former banker and senior manager in Forever Living, a multi-national company; she remains a woman passionate about charitably contributing to her community. She has a deep passion for guidance and counselling and recently completed a Counseling Course on Sex and Relationship Education. She is currently undergoing in-depth practical training in counseling at the Good Counsel Network in London.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR– Ihuoma Nwogu (MBBS)
A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka’s College of Medicine, Ihuoma has practised as a general practitioner in several private institutions in Lagos, Nigeria. A founding member of this body, she has a special love for the youth and gives many motivational talks to youth groups for the organization. She is a recent graduate of the Leadership Institute, Arlington, Virginia, USA.

BENEFACTOR AND PROJECT COORDINATOR – Christine Dokun-Mowete
Christine Dokun-Mowete obtained HND in Hospitality Management at Kwara state College of Technology in 1982 and later undertook a Post graduate diploma and Master’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Ibadan in 1992.
She initially pursued a career as Human Resource Practitioner, Contract and Project Management in oil and gas Industry with a Masters of Business Administration from University of Lagos and her work experience spans over 30 years. Having been passionate about community nutrition and health programs, she conducted community nutritional studies in maternal and child care as research thesis. Christine is currently undertaking a Doctorate degree program in Public health and Community Nutrition with a special focus on nutritional health of teenage pregnant mothers.
